Kindergarten Information
We’re so excited to have you joining Maplewood Elementary! We’ve included some information below to help make the transition to Kindergarten a little easier. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
If you have not already registered your incoming kindergartener, please do so on the PPS Registration page HERE
Important Kindergarten Dates
- Thursday, 8/27 – Half of kindergarten students attend their first full day*
- Friday, 8/28 – The other half attend their first full day*
- Monday, 8/31 – All kindergarten students attend together for the first time
*Families will learn which day their child starts when they receive their class placement.
Class Placements
Placements will be shared with parents electronically via email ~ 2nd week of August.
Kinder Survey
The Kinder survey will be sent individually to kindergarten parents who have completed enrolling their child for the 2026–2027 school year on the PPS registration page.
Class Meet-ups
There are several Kinder meet ups planned over the summer for your child to be able to get to know some of the other incoming students. You can find the dates and times for them below:
Start of the Year Events
We have several events planned to help transition to Maplewood including a sneak peek prior to the school year starting where you can check out your child’s classroom, as well as a new parent orientation where you can hear more about the school year and what to expect. There’s also a back to school picnic where you can meet other families and enjoy a fun atmosphere (and some delicious food) on the turf.
Maplewood Calendar
Maplewood has a school calendar where you can find dates and times, as well as general information for all school events. It also has information on PPS-wide events for things like grading days and early release days. You can find the calendar HERE
